Congratulations on your new puppy or kitten!

The Wadsworth Animal Hospital team is excited to meet your newest family member. We’re also here to help provide the education and medical care necessary to get that precious little guy or gal started off on the right paw and keep them healthy and happy for many years to come. 

When it comes to caring for your new puppy or kitten, there are a lot of important things to consider. From vaccinations and dietary needs to spaying, neutering, socializing, training and more, it can feel overwhelming. Not to worry! The puppy and kitten experts at Wadsworth Animal Hospital have all the support and guidance you’ll need. 

When you arrive for your first visit, we’ll spend plenty of time answering your questions and going over best practices. We’ll also perform a comprehensive physical exam and discussing next steps, like initial tests and vaccinations. 

A few suggestions to help you prepare for your new pet’s first trip to the vet:

• Puppies should be kept on a leash and kittens safely in a carrier
• Bring any records you may have from the shelter, pet store, or breeder
• Please try to bring a fresh stool sample in a Ziploc bag or Tupperware container
• Bring a list of questions you would like addressed at your visit
• If your puppy or kitten is coughing or sneezing please let us know immediately
