Fido's Holiday Wish List

December 17, 2021

Season’s Greetings! We hope that all of you are having a wonderful holiday season. We know that many of our canine companions get lots of extra love—and treats—at this time of year. Fido also deserves some special goodies. After all, he’s been a very good boy! A Wheat Ridge, CO vet lists some things on your pup’s wish list in this article.

Treats

Treats would most likely land at the top of your furry friend’s list. (This probably isn’t much of a shock.) If you go for store-bought snacks, choose ones that don’t have a lot of fillers or preservatives. You can also try your hand at making homemade goodies. You’ll find plenty of recipes online. Just be sure to only use ingredients that are safe for your furry buddy. These make fun gifts for Fido’s four-legged playmates! Use a cute bone or heart-shaped mold, and put them in a Mason jar decorated with a festive ribbon.

Toys

Fido is always adorably excited when he spots a new plaything. Toys offer your adorable pet entertainment and stimulation, both of which are crucial to his health and well-being. Offer your canine pal a variety. Just be sure to stick with things that are appropriate for your pup’s size, age, and personality.

Bedding

Has Fido’s bed seen better days? A new bed is a great present for your pooch, even if it doesn’t quite fit under the tree. It’s important for your four-legged friend to be able to sleep comfortably, especially as he ages.

Winter Gear

If you have a dog with thick fur, such as a husky, you can skip this one. However, pooches with thin coats need some help staying warm at this time of year. Consider getting Fido a comfy jacket or sweater. Paw care is also important in winter. You can get paw balm for your pooch, or perhaps some booties.

Belly Rubs

Man’s Best Friend is very loyal and loving, and he wants nothing more than to spend time with his favorite humans. Keep in mind that this time of year can be very stressful for pets, what with all of the noise and commotion. Pay some extra attention to your canine buddy, and keep that cute tail going!
